Our dental team focuses on preventative care routines to help maintain your experience at the dental office as a positive one. We believe in educating our patients regarding dental awareness to maximize your visits with your dental care provider. Our team is dedicated to encourage our patients to continue the path of a healthy lifestyle.

Your first visit with us is a New Patient Exam. This exam is a complete comprehensive exam providing us with the information we need in order to provide you with the best possible dental care routine for you. Your hygienist will complete an exam which evaluates your teeth and gums, your tongue and tonsils as well as additional surrounding structures including

• Cancer Screen (checking for any abnormalities of soft tissue and glands)

• Radiographs (x-rays) of your teeth and bone structure

• Tempromandibular joint examination

• Orthodontic examination

• Periodontal examination

• And to check any additional existing conditions

Following the New Patient exam your hygienist will discuss with you any present conditions and determine the proper care required for you. Once you feel comfortable in your proposed treatment we will reserve time for you with your hygienist to begin your path to optimal dental health.

  Single Sitting RCT »

Root canal therapy is a way of removing dead or dying tissue from the tooth. This stops infection and prevents it from spreading further. Root Canal therapy relieves you of any symptoms and allows you to keep your natural tooth. Some common symptoms include sensitivity to hot and cold, pain while chewing, constant throbbing or a dull ache.

  Retreatment of Failed RCT »
Try to get a follow up x-ray from your dentist. The best way to confirm the root canal treatment failure is by an intra oral photography as sometimes symptoms is only suggestive but not conclusive.

A root canal treatment which has failed usually will have to undergo re-treatment, extraction or endodontic surgery depending on case requirements.

It is always wise to maintain close communication with your dentist to identify and recognize the symptoms of a failed root canal treatment. As your dentist has been keeping your records and developments after the treatment, identification of a failure could be a breeze. If symptoms persist, don’t be alarmed but make an appointment to consult your dentist.

  Tooth coloured restoration »
Direct tooth coloured restorations consist of a material called composite resin. Composite resin fillings are matched and blended to the same natural colour as your own teeth and since they are bonded can also help strengthen the tooth.

Composites are preferable for obvious cosmetic reasons but if the decayed area is large or subject to heavy chewing forces, an alternative type of material or restoration may be recommended as being more appropriate.

  Teeth Whitening »
Day to day activities such as drinking tea, coffee, red wine, colas and smoking tobacco can impact unfavourably on the colour of your teeth. Sometimes yellowing can also be the result of ageing. The good news is that a lot of this can be reversed by tooth whitening.

Tooth whitening is a fast, simple and inexpensive way of achieving a brighter, whiter more appealing smile. The whitening process relies on a peroxide based gel that gently penetrates the tooth and breaks down the staining substances.

  Smile Designing »
A beautiful more alluring smile can be the beginning of a happier, more successful and confident lifestyle. Designing your new smile is the first step. As each patient is unique, we believe that examing your lip line, facial shape, jaw angle and eye symmetry are all essential elements in designing the most beautiful and natural smile.

To create your new smile, very effective techniques are used to reshape the gum line and rebuild the teeth with porcelain veneers, crowns, bridges or any combination of these. Most of these are relatively simple procedures that are painless, fast and surprisingly affordable. So, you too, can enjoy the benefits of a beautiful smile with cosmetic dentistry!

  Veeners & Crowns »
A porcelain veneer is a thin, custom-made covering that conceals the front and side surfaces of your tooth. A veneer is made of a very durable ceramic. They can correct stains, breaks and odd shapes to create a happy, healthy smile.

A crown is the most common way to restore a single damaged tooth to its normal size and shape. A crown may be made of gold, a mix of metals, porcelain, or porcelain fused to metal. The crown needs to be the same size as the natural tooth to provide a proper restoration. In order for the crown to be placed over the natural tooth the dentist needs to remove a thin layer of enamel. When the final preparation is complete an impression is taken and sent to a laboratory for fabrication. The dentist will have made a temporary tooth from an acrylic material which is temporarily cemented until the permanent crown is received from the lab.

Crowns are commonly used on teeth which are broken, cracked or have had root canal therapy.

  Implants »

A titanium anchor or screw is placed into the jawbone to simulate a natural tooth root. After placing the implant a healing period of 4-6 months is required to allow the natural bone to heal and secure the implant. The second step is to place an attachment or an abutment into the implant to allow a post for the crown to sit on. After this procedure you have the closest thing to a natural tooth as possible. Implants are used to replace one or more missing teeth and can be used in conjunction with upper and lower dentures.

  Reattachment of Tooth »
Coronal fractures of the anterior teeth are a common form of dental trauma that mainly affects children and adolescents. One of the options for managing coronal tooth fractures when the tooth fragment is available and there is no or minimal violation of the biological width is the reattachment of the dental fragment.

Reattachment of fractured tooth fragments can provide good and long-lasting esthetics (because the tooth’s original anatomic form, color, and surface texture are maintained). It also restores function, provides a positive psychological response, and is a relatively simple procedure.

Patient cooperation and understanding of the limitations of the treatment is of utmost importance for good prognosis. This article reports on two coronal tooth fracture cases that were successfully treated using tooth fragment reattachment.

  Full Mouth Rehabilitation »
Full mouth rehabilitation cases are one of the most difficult cases to manage in dental practice. This is because such cases involve not only replacement of the lost tooth structure but also restoring the lost vertical dimensions.

Full mouth reconstruction is basically a set of procedures that are aimed at correcting an improper bite position as well as restoring chipped or worn out teeth. Improper jaw position is implicated in various neuro-muscular disorders as well as in headache and neck ache. Correcting the jaw position not only restores proper function, but also helps in enhancing the cosmetic appearance of the patient.

  Crown, Bridge & Dentures »
A bridge is used to replace one or more missing teeth. They are made of gold, a mix of metals, porcelain, or porcelain fused to metal. A bridge is made up of two crowns linked together by a replacement tooth. The natural teeth on either side of the missing tooth need to be shaped so that the crowns can fit over them. The natural teeth will support the replacement tooth and bare the pressure of chewing. Similar preparation to that of a crown procedure is required to properly fit a bridge. The dentist will fabricate a temporary bridge to prevent any additional movement of the teeth while the laboratory prepares the final bridge.

Dentures (also known as false teeth) are prosthetic devices constructed to replace missing teeth, and which are supported by surrounding soft and hard tissues of the oral cavity. Conventional dentures are removable, however there are many different denture designs, some which rely on bonding or clasping onto teeth or dental implants. There are two main categories of dentures, depending on whether they are used to replace missing teeth on the mandibular arch or the maxillary arch.

  Flap Surgery »
Periodontal flap surgery is planned for the upper left segment. The patient is in excellent health, and has no contraindications to surgery. The patient is given a brief description of the procedure, and the possible risks and complications are outlined. The informed consent form is then signed.

  Bone Grafting »
Bone grafting is required when substantial bone loss has occurred. How do we lose bone? Bone loss occurs as a result of missing teeth. The lack of stimulation causes the degeneration of bone.

During a bone grafting procedure the surgeon will take tiny fragments of either your own bone, synthetic bone, or bone from a bone bank to place where bone was lost. These grafts serve as a platform for the re growth of new bone. Bone grafting may be required to perform dental implant surgery.

At these appointments your Dentist will scale (remove plaque), polish, give a fluoride treatment and floss your teeth to remove all plaque and tartar. Depending again on your new patient exam your Dentist might use an oral irrigation to treat infection. Your regularly scheduled hygiene visits help to prevent cavities, gingivitis, and periodontal disease.

  Gum Recontouring »
When it comes to a great smile, having white teeth is not the only factor to consider. Well-shaped, healthy-looking gums help showcase the teeth and improve the appearance of the smile. Swollen, excessive and uneven gums can seriously compromise the overall appearance of the teeth.

Gum Recontouring reshapes the gums so that they better drape over the teeth and properly frame the patient’s smile. The procedure is rather simple and is done in our Centre. Using both gingivoplasty and gingivectomy the gums are sculpted to better frame the teeth shown in the patient’s smile. The whole procedure can be completed in one single visit.

  Orthodontic Treatment (Braces) »

Orthodontics are commonly known as "braces". Braces are placed on the teeth to help realign the teeth into proper functional order. Either genetics or environmental factors can influence the development of your jaw, muscles and teeth.

Orthodontics can be used as a strictly cosmetic procedure or a corrective procedure for people who have malocclusions.

Braces

Metallic
Traditional braces are stainless steel, sometimes in combination with nickel titanium, and are the most widely used. These include conventional braces, which require ties to hold the archwire in place, and newer self-tying (or self-ligating) brackets. Self-ligating brackets may reduce friction between the wire and the slot of the bracket, which in turn might be of therapeutic benefit.

Ceramic
"Clear" braces serve as a cosmetic alternative to traditional metal braces by blending in more with the natural color of the teeth or having a less conspicuous or hidden appearance. Typically, these brackets are made of ceramic or plastic materials and function in a similar manner to traditional metal brackets. Clear elastic ties and white metal ties are available to be used with these clear braces to help keep the appliances less conspicuous. Clear braces have a higher component of friction and tend to be more brittle than metal braces. This can make removing the appliances at the end of treatment more difficult and time consuming.

Lingual
Lingual braces (Incognito Braces) are custom made fixed braces bonded to the back of the teeth making them invisible to other people. In lingual braces the brackets are cemented onto the backside of the teeth making them invisible while in standard braces the brackets are cemented onto the front side of the teeth. Hence, lingual braces are a cosmetic alternative to those who do not wish to have the unaesthetic metal look but wish to improve their smile
